The Villalpandos

"No hay bien que por mal no venga" is one of the favorite sayings of Mr. Eleazar Villalpando founder of Las Palmeras Mexican Restaurant. In English, several sayings display the same positive attitude "Every cloud has a silver lining" or "When one doors closes, another opens".

Born in San Felipe, Mexico, Eleazar attended Elementary school up to the 6th grade. He did not settle for what life offered him. As a young teenager he earned his first few dollars selling water in the streets of Mexico City.

While still a teenager he also worked for Samsonite in Mexico. His father taught him the trade of  Masonry Brick Laying which he did for several years. Coming to America as a young man in the 1970's was risky. But he understood that a bigger risk was not taking a chance at all. Together with his family they migrated to California, USA.

Once in California, Eleazar began work at a pasta factory and for the next 16 years he would work for that company, earning the respect of the owners and colleagues alike.

Many years have come and gone since those early days. After moving to the Carolinas Eleazar and many of his family members, including his brother Octavio, worked for several Mexican establishments. But, in 2006 the Villalpandos decided to open Las Palmeras as their very own family business and today you can find Octavio at the restaurant suggesting great food and sharing a great family atmosphere. Come visit us today. Enjoy what has taken so much to bring to you.
